Go! Sign has three main aims:-
To create a network of information about the Christian faith, events, churches and training, especially in the UK, to support Deaf people and others who use British Sign Language
Bringing Deaf people to Jesus.
To advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ, particularly among Deaf People.
Deaf Christian community
To promote the full participation of Deaf People into Church life and communities.
John was brought up in a Christian family in Wimbledon and is married to Jean. He worked as a draughtsman for 43 years with the Electricity Distribution Company and is now retired. John has recently published a comprehensive history of the Deaf Christian Fellowship and attends Kings Church, Catford, London.
Catherine Carlyon, joined the Trustees in 2017 and has the role of Secretary. Catherine works as a chaplain among Deaf people in North London and lives with her dog, Piran. She was brought up in a Christian family and worked as a nurse for 14 years before being ordained as a priest in the Church of England. She loves walking, craftwork and gardening.
Andy Farthing joined the board of Trustees in 2019 and is our Treasurer. Andy retired after working for a water company for 41 years. He attends Kerith Community Church in Bracknell, Berkshire
Matthew Adedeji, works as a social worker in London and is lead Pastor of Hand in Hands Deaf fellowship, which is part of Ruislip Baptist Church. He is currently serving as the Chairperson of the board of Trustees.
Anna Smith, has run the Go!Sign Roadshow events over the past few years. She works as an freelance English/ BSL interpreter and is the lead Trustee for children͛s work and safeguarding.
Mary-Jayne Russell de Clifford
Mary-Jayne Russell de Clifford is currently working as the childrens and youth leader for Go! Sign. She is based in the Midlands.
Karen Gutberlet is the Go!Sign Administrator, who answers your emails and queries. She has worked for Go!Sign since 2004. She is married with two grown up sons and a member of Belle Vue Baptist Church, Southend on Sea. Karen is hearing but has BSL level 2.
