Laurence Banks, Ministry Director of Go! Sign, will step down from his post at the end of this year. Laurence has been involved with Go! Sign for many years and we are very sorry to see him leave, but we are excited that God is leading him in new directions. We are very thankful to God for all Laurence’s work for Go! Sign.
During his time with us as Ministry Director - and before that as a Trustee of Go! Sign, Laurence has always had a vision for the organisation as one that reaches out into the Deaf Community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He has worked, alongside the Trustees and other staff, to ensure that Go! Sign delivers the best events, training and support for Deaf Christians throughout the UK.
Laurence’s clear thinking and theological understanding has been helpful in shaping the organisation and directing the way ahead but he is also a superb Bible Teacher and preacher and we have benefited from his wisdom many times, both during our Trustees’ meetings and also at major events such as the Deaf Perspectives Conference and Bible Training weekends.
Laurence will concentrate on his teaching and the church he pastors and we know that God will continue to use him in great ways.
The Trustees gave Laurence a farewell gift from Go! Sign and a further financial gift from his fellow trustees, members of staff and friends of Go! Sign. Thank you to all who contributed.
We are now praying about the future and asking for God’s guidance about how we carry on Laurence’s good work. Please remember us in your prayers at this time.
The Trustees of Go! Sign wish you all a happy and blessed Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Gill Behenna, on behalf of the Trustees.
